Description

What is Lovaza used for?

Lovaza is prescribed to help lower levels of certain blood fat (triglyceride) and raise “good” cholesterol (HDL). In general, this drug is used after your blood fat levels have not been fully controlled by non-drug treatments (such as diet changes, exercise, decreasing alcohol intake, weight loss if overweight, controlling blood sugar if diabetic, and regulating your thyroid hormone levels).

Lovaza is also sometimes given to help prevent a heart attack or stroke in some people, but its effectiveness for this purpose is unknown.

You can buy Lovaza (Omega-3-Acid Ethyl Esters) online at My Drug Center. We have the Lovaza generic, called Omega-3-Acid Ethyl Esters, available for purchase as well.

How does Lovaza work?

Lovaza is a prescription medicine that contains two types of omega-3 fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega-3 fatty acids are thought to work by reducing the amount of triglycerides and other fats made by the liver. They belong to a class of drugs called antilipemic or lipid-regulating agents.

Before taking Lovaza or the generic alternative, read all the instructions and paper work that given to you by your pharmacist. Take your Lovaza dosage orally once a day. Make sure you take it at the same time each day to create a routine for yourself and to ensure an even spread of the Omega-3-Acid Ethyl Esters dosage in your system. This medication should be taken on a regular basis to have optimal results. The Lovaza dosage that you take will depend on your condition and your age. Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not substitute other omega-3 fatty acids or fish oil products (such as nonprescription products, vitamins, supplements) for this product without talking with your doctor first. They may not contain the same amount and type of fatty acids.
