Teveten Plus is used to treat high blood pressure, which is also known as hypertension. If someone has high blood pressure, it means that their heart is working harder than it should to pump blood around the body. If this continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This could result in damaged blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys which could result in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. This drug is often used as part of combination therapy to treat high blood pressure.
This medicine is also sometimes given to help treat heart failure or diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease in people with diabetes).
Teveten Plus is an oral medication that contains a combination of Eprosartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). The Eprosartan dosage in the medication works by blocking the angiotensin receptor, which relaxes the blood vessels to improve blood flow to the heart and arteries. The Hydrochlorothiazide dosage in the medication works by blocking salt and water re-absorption in the kidneys, which increases the output of urine containing increased amounts of water and salt. The combination of Eprosartan and Hydrochlorothiazide reduces blood pressure more than either drug alone.
