Wellbutrin SR is an oral tablet consisting of an antidepressant called bupropion. We carry this medication in both the brand choice and generic alternative in 150mg!
Wellbutrin SR is used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder. It is thought that depression is caused due to a chemical imbalance in the brain, though the exact cause of this is unknown. What doctors do know is that there are certain risk factors that may make one more likely to develop depression, such as family history, substance abuse, stressful life situations or grief, injury, childhood abuse (physical or emotional), or having medical conditions such as a chronic life time condition (like diabetes) or a past mental illness (like anxiety). Depression symptoms include constant feelings of being sad or down, reduced concentration, lack of motivation, detachment from reality, appetite changes, sexy drive changes, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts or actions, self-isolation, and not wanting to participate in activities you usually enjoy doing. Depression can become fatal if a person is suicidal and decides to take their own life.
Wellbutrin SR (bupropion) is effective at treating depression-related conditions due to its ability to restore the balance of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain.

How does bupropion work?
Disorders affecting mental health are often associated with low levels of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine (natural chemicals found in the brain vital for sleep and emotional well-being). Nerves in the body, which release these chemicals, will sometimes absorb them back in to “recycle” and reuse them; this stops further production of the chemicals, leading to consistent low levels of the chemicals, which results in the mental health symptoms. Wellbutrin XL, or bupropion, is able to stop the re-absorption of the chemicals so they cannot be re-used; this causes the body to boost production of the chemicals which balances the shortage and improves ones mental health.
